Whilst living at Tŷ Mesen, we encourage children to attend a formal educational provision, where possible.
We also support the attendance of extra educational activities and volunteering if the child is over 16 years of age.
The value of education is important to us and we do everything we can to assist children to achieve their goals and aspirations. We support children who are not attending mainstream education, as well as those who need help with homework and revision. We attend parents evening to hear and celebrate their achievements.
Some children may need to be on a limited school timetable or attend a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU). Additionally, they may be excluded from their educational provision. Staff are available to provide alternative types of education by way of life skills, working on a 1:1 basis and liaising with the Local Authorities to provide tutors within their home environment.
We also support the attendance of extra educational activities and volunteering if the child is over 16 years of age.
We provide a therapeutic approach in a caring and nurturing environment.
The voice of the child is embedded within our culture. We offer an independent advocacy service, which takes place on a regular basis.
